Okay, so I LOVE this book! Courtney infuriated me sometimes, because it was so plain to see that she was always in love with Beckett. I get that her desire to never get hurt again clouded her judgement with Ryan, but she had to know that she didn't truly love him. (I mean, everyone else did!) I don't know if the author meant for Ryan to come off as such a jerk or not, but in my opinion he was. I found myself hating the parts of the book that he was in. For some reason I kept associating Ryan with the actor Kerr Smith, and I have no idea why! The other thing that I adored about this book was the music refrences! Pearl Jam, Green Day (old, not new) Better Than Ezra, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Gin Blossoms and Counting Crows were all my bands when I was in high school, so I guess I just related. Plus, I liked the Vinnie from Doogie Howser reference too! Good read not only the first time around, but the second time too! I definitely saw the fireworks! This was such a "girls" book-meaning that as being a girl/woman we kind of are all in some way drawn to the same things. This book had so much more to it than that though! It was just the sort of read that will leave you with a smile on your face for a while and cause you to hold your head a little higher in the hope that everyone can obtain their own fairy tale. I can honestly say I enjoyed every word of this book and now I am going to go and download some more of Monica Alexander's books! ;)
What do You think about Just Watch The Fireworks (2000)?
I wrote it, so of course I love it. I hope you do too :)
