My year revolves around this series. Even though Ridley Pearson can be a little inconsistent with his writing - naming one thing another, forgetting minor characters (e.g. Maybeck's little sister in the first book and Finn's little sister coming in and out, characters changing fears every book) - but I'm a true Disney Maniac and I assure you, you will fall deeply in love with these characters. They're so easy to relate and they practically breathe off the page. You find yourself wishing you knew these kids and were able to go along with them on this dangerous adventure. Great coming of age book. Better than the third and fourth books in the series, but still very glad to finish. We're reading it as a family and everyone is finding it hard to generate any interest in what happens to the annoying Keepers at this stage. I nearly had to force everyone to finish this book - it was a case of "let's get it over so we can move on to something decent". Having said that, this book was a lot better with less obvious plot holes, and by the end the two youngest wanted to move on to 6.
