I love her way of describing places, and with every her book I suddenly have huge wish to live in Paris (because of the book Loveliest chocolate shop in Paris) or in country side after this one. Perfect descriptions make me relaxed and craving for sweets. This book is perfect for reading with large bag of sweets or you just have to make it on you own with recipes from the same book. I just can't stop reading Jenny's books! What a lovely book! I loved the layers of stories that were separate but entwined. The snippets of Lillian's sweets book were charming. The flashbacks to her youth were saddening but definitely gave depth to the book. I enjoyed reading about the charming store, brought back to its former glory by Rosie. Colgan certainly made you feel what it was like to be back during the rationing war times. She has a wonderful grasp on modern-day country versus city life, too.
Fantastic book - flew through the book. have now purchased a few more of her books
