Welcome To Rosie Hopkins' Sweetshop Of Dreams (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
Thank you Net Galley and Sourcebooks for allowing me to read and review this book!I LOVED this book! The characters, the story and the setting. Lillian, the crotchety aunt has a sad, but wonderful story to tell. Rosie has settled in her life and every one keeps telling her so. She finally realizes it when she travels from London to the country to take care of her aunt and her candy store. It's a very entertaining story and one that I truly enjoyed. I can't believe it's been out so long with so little reviews. Your missing out if you don't read this one! The American version will be called "Sweetshop of dreams" and that explains it all. An entertaining and sweet novel of a Londoner named Rosie who has spent the last seven years of her life in an unsatisfying relationship. When asked to go to a small village to take care of an ailing great aunt, Rosie accepts the responsibility. While trying to ready Lillian for a move to an old age home, Rosie ends up turning around Lillian's shop, while becoming attached to a variety of local characters. Descriptions of the candies in the shop at the beginning of each chapter add to the fun.
