Book 3 in my journey into the Guild Hunter Series and I'm still hooked! Nalini Singh is still providing me with the character growth I seek in a long term series and keeps building the world and making it more and more interesting. She still allows every character to have the dark and the light within them it is just the % of each that categorizes them as good or bad. In this outing we think the "bad" guy has changed and that again the world is in jeopardy if this evil arises. We have so many twists and turns that the story flows at a very quick pace. We also have a back story that includes Elena's family. Her Father is still uncaring but her "steps" will be taking a larger part of her life. This new development in the end seems to bring our heroes closer and the relationship between Elena and Raphael keeps growing. This book really packs a lot into it and you do need to read carefully or if you skim you will be missing important pieces that may impact on how you appreciate the story. Personally, I'm completely enthralled and still looking forward to hearing more about the 7 and seeing who next is going to put our world in danger. 4.5 stars for me...not as awesome as book 2 but pretty damn close...and very much a vehicle for moving our characters ahead and growing the arc of the story....love it! High t'irla rec and I'm off to consume book 4! Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux and her lover, the lethally beautiful archangel Raphael, have returned home to New York only to face an uncompromising new evil… The vampires are acting out and breaking their contracts, strange natural disasters are rocking the world, all of which can only mean one thing... an immortal is rising. And Raphael is pretty sure he knows who it is. Caliane... his mother. Okay, so for starters, this book was AMAZING! Nalini Singh didn't disappoint with the third Guild Hunter novel. We are back in New York and Elena is trying to adjust herself with her old life. I find Elena's struggle to be real, unlike most novels. You can see her overcoming her fears and battling her way through the obstacles her new immortal life throws at her. Elena and Raphael's relationship is stronger than ever. You can see their love through every little action. I have to say they are one of my favourite couples ever. I hope that the next book is as good as this one.
What do You think about La Dama Del Arcángel (2011)?
That old fart needed to die! And I love Illium.
