I went to Savers and they had a booksale. I was going over every shelf and couldn't find anyhing that appeals to me. I found this book and when I started reading it,I was instantly hooked. I've finished reading this book four days after reading this. It keeps me on the edge. Whenever I finished a chapter, I just cannot wait to start another! I felt like Dracula whilst reading this, awake at night and sleeping on the day. Amazing book! This is easily one of the best books I've ever read, and I read books on a daily basis.I HIGHLY recommend this book to fans of Bram Stoker's Dracula, readers of romance, and anyone who enjoys a compelling story and a book they can't put down. Syrie James brilliantly takes the mysteries and unanswered questions of Bram Stoker's Dracula and presents a telling narrative that fits logically into the folds of Dracula, but tells his and Mina's side of the story. This book takes readers on an emotional journey through Mina's relationship with Dracula, her husband and her parents (or their memory and ancestry, anyway). The story is very well-written and every single page kept me turning. You can really feel the characters develop, and find yourself swept up in Mina's emotions, feeling an equal pull between her sweet Jonathan and her romantic Dracula. Dracula, being the underdog with an unknown but very caring nature, really draws out your sympathy and makes you feel irrevocably as though you are a character in the story, just as stuck in making moral decisions as Mina is.The story ends with a surprising twist that, in retrospect, makes complete sense. You go through a sort of grieving process at the end because you cannot help but feel exactly as Mina does. Wow, this story really doesn't leave you - it only leaves you wanting more!
