Lady Blue Eyes: My Life With Frank (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

My bad!! I picked up the wrong book, I wanted to read a biography about Frank Sinatra and not about his wife. I got sick and tired of reading who wonderful she is and of course that Frank was tough but never meant to hurt anyone…yeah right!!This book is not much more than a self-serving ego boost for Mrs. Sinatra, if I extracted the interesting and funny pages on Frank, we would have a nice 15 page pamphlet. If anyone has read a good book on Sinatra, please advise, thanks! Wow. Barbara Sinatra certainly seemed to lead quite the charmed life. She did it all-worked her way up from a small Midwest farm town and wound up as Mrs. Chairman of the Board. Kudos to her, especially since she had struggled along the way, starting out as a young single mom supporting her son by working as a Las Vegas showgirl. What a cataclysmic climb. This gal seems to be sincere, determined, resilient and all about living life to the fullest, much like her late husband, the iconic Mr. Sinatra. She really seemed to jump right into the role as his sidekick with both feet which resulted in an amazing love match between the two.The thing that struck me more than anything was her complete devotion to Mr. Sinatra. She stood by him right up to the end, and gave him the love and care that he seemed to so much deserve. Honestly, I think they would've been happy together no matter wherever in life they might've wound up. I even teared up a little bit at the end. I miss him-he did so much for music and was the prototype for contemporary American music and pop culture. He also seemed to be such a gentleman, too. I'm sure he also had his liabilities, as Barbara mentions at times, but was a good and loyal man, through and through.I also liked the way Barbara gave so much of her time to animals and underprivileged people.Yes, she had a storybook life, but she also took a great deal of responsibility for her role in many positive ways. What a book. I'd even read it again.

What do You think about Lady Blue Eyes: My Life With Frank (2011)?

Barbara is my mom's cousin so it was so great to read her memories of her pre-teen years.
