Lady Liberty: A Biography (2008) - Plot & Excerpts

Rappaport, D., & Tavares, M. (2008). Lady Liberty: A biography. Cambridge, Mass: Candlewick Press.Citation By: Melissa BinggeliReference Type: BiographyCall Number: 974.7Description: The book is told from multiple view points from people who had a hand in the creation of the statue of liberty.Review:Santangelo, M. (2008). Lady Liberty: A Biography. Horn Book Magazine, 84(4), 471.Price:$17.09 I find this unassuming book fascinating for all it is doing. Well researched, it talks across multiple perspectives (all in poems) of people who were a part of Liberty's development and construction. Illustrations are beautiful and add as much factual information as the text. A challenging text for students to read independently, I think, but one that would make a great class read aloud and study of unique ways to publish nonfiction.

What do You think about Lady Liberty: A Biography (2008)?

Beautiful art and very informative but rather dry for a storytime.
