Listened on audio and was much more entertained than I thought I'd be. I had to set it aside at one point because I 'knew' what was coming up (I thought), and when I got back to it, enjoyed it rather a lot. Okay, I liked it more than that ... I just finished it minutes ago and had to go get the next one (Findley's Lass)Makes cleaning house on a day off go quicker when I can just plug in and listen to a book. Enjoyed every bit of this book. It was funny, romantic, tragic and just everything I like to read in a book. Loved both the main characters Duncan and Aishlinn as well as all the other characters. Duncan was the perfect hero; strong, determined, level headed, gentle, sweet and ever the one to get jealous when someone else tried to so much as look in the direction of his woman! I love the possessiveness the hero's tend to have towards their women, so romantic ahhhh! Aishlinn was a timid and afraid young lass that had been through a lot since childhood, having suffered at the hands of her family. She later turns into a spirited, determined and fierce lass after falling in love with Duncan. This book had me both laughing and teary-eyed at moments. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Sigh. So many ways to butcher a good idea with clunky writing.
