Enjoyed the continuation of Maxine's story, I still feel the writing style is a bit over worded and found there were pages I was skim reading because descriptions just dragged on and on detracting from the flow of the story.Liu builds such a complex world and explanations are slow to come for many characters that at times I felt like there were too many hints and teasers to keep track of but it's interesting enough to keep you involved. Still loving the main characters enough to keep reading this series lets see what number 3 brings! This is book two in the huntress series with Maxine Kiss. She is still fighting to save humanity, and her sanity. is she human? Is her lover? Her friends? What can she do to stop the veil from opening, even though she is the last warden. A secret section of the church has gone from protecting her ancestors, to plotting their deaths, hers included. What part does all her friends play in this conspiracy.Who can she trust? Why is every answer another riddle?..This was a nail biter till the end..I cannot wait until book 3.
What do You think about L'Appel Des Ombres (2012)?
Still struggle through this series a little bit but easier now that I've read two of them

I really love this series! The author has quite an imagination, onto book 3!
