This was my first novel by this talented Swedish author, Camilla Lackberg. The story weaves between WWII and present time while trying to solve the murder of a friend of Erica's recently deceased mother. Erica finds a Nazi war medal and her mother's diary and begins to question her mother's early life while Erica's husband, a detective, searches for the murdered friend of Erica's mother. At first the story is a little hard to follow, but everything falls into place and I didn't want to put the book down. The title of the book finally becomes clear when Erica and her husband tie all the knots in this complicated timeline story. There are a lot of secrets that are dug up from the WWII and the past is brought forth into the present. I would recommend this author if you have not yet discovered her writing.
What do You think about Las Huellas Imborrables (2007)?
One of the saddest books I've ever read, and a good mystery/police procedural to boot.

Ponderous. Maybe something is lost in translation?

My favourite from the Patrik Hedstrom novels.
