Voilà un récit qui sort de l’ordinaire, non pas à cause de l’histoire, mais surtout du personnage féminin, j’ai vraiment apprécié que l’auteure ait choisi de faire de Cali une femme mûre, qui malgré ses quarante-quatre ans est toujours désirable et sexy. C’est une femme qui a donné vingt ans de sa vie à un homme, élevé deux enfants, mais qui avec courage et détermination va se prendre en charge et se confronter à ses désirs qu’elle a refoulés durant tout son mariage. Elle fait le choix de rejoindre un club de BDSM, très select et discret, elle recherche un Dominateur, elle ne sait pas exactement ce dont elle a besoin, mais pense qu’elle va trouver satisfaction dans cet univers si particulier. Le club The Den est tenu par trois amis, Jack, Seth et Deklan. Jack n’a plus pris de soumise attitrée depuis longtemps, et lorsque Seth lui demande de tester les capacités de Cali, il est plutôt réfractaire, cependant dès qu’il rencontre la jeune femme, il est immédiatement séduit par son innocence et sa vulnérabilité. Il comprend qu’aucun autre homme ne pourra être son dominateur, elle est pour lui et malgré le fait qu’il n’avait plus le désir d’exercer ce rôle, l’amour qu’il découvre avec Cali lui permet de rassembler ces deux parties de lui-même. J’ai beaucoup apprécié la relation qui s’établit entre Cali et Jake, il y a un bon équilibre entre les scènes de BDSM et la romance, les scènes sont explicites et très chaudes, mais elles restent soft pour ce genre. Lynda Aicher fait le choix de développer surtout la relation, de montrer ce que Cali apporte à Jack et ce que celui-ci lui apporte également, c’est une lecture sexy et torride, mais avec une véritable romance. I found this book by chance and have never read anything by this author. I'm SO Incredibly glad that I got the chance to have read this beautiful and engaging book! From the very beginning, it caught my full attention and wouldn't let go. The characters were so real. I adored the main characters SO much and their beautiful touching heartfelt journey forwards true love and acceptance, that I never wanted their story to end! I am just so taken by their story and by this extremely talented author's way of telling it. For anyone looking to read a book that not only is about BSDM, but is actually a truly romantic journey of two complex & incredible people, trying to break thru the chains of their past to finally find the kind of peace and happiness that we all long for, then YOU MUST get this book! I'm on to the next book and am very excited to read the rest of the series! I went ahead and bought the rest of the books (3 more) that are in this series. They all sound really incredible and are about characters we got to start to know in this book. And the prices are affordable too!I want to thank the author for her beautiful touching story.
