rating: 3.5Read this before reading Spirit Sanguine so I just judged this short story as it is. It was very entertaining to read but since I know so little of the characters yet, I know so little of them so I didn't know yet that they're really into role-playing (it's the first one I've read with something like it, I think, and the cheesy lines threw me off a bit) and Harvey is really a possessive bastard. So even though I still liked the story, it seemed a bit generic to me (I think the length of the story didn't give me a chance to be really attached to the characters) which which made me regret reading this first before the first book. I had no idea this was linked to a series so I had no idea who any of the characters were. This affected the rating of the book as I was a bit lost and I felt no connection to anyone. If I had read the original book I feel like I would of got a lot more from this short story, but that is not to say I didn't enjoy it, because I did. I have added the first novel to my wishlist and I am going to be looking out for more Lou Harper books as I loved their writing.
I LIKED THIS STORY. THE PLOT,HARVEY, AND GABE WAS GREAT. IT WAS WELL WRITTEN. A GOOD SHORT STORY.
