I haven't read all of the Shannara books--just the three gypsy morph books... I really love the characters.... they don't follow the standard description of good and evil, but are individually unique to make up this wonderful story.. The ending has me longing to know what Hawk finds when he awakens, but that is the way a really good book should make you feel....that it is never enough! On the Goodreads author page-Terry Brooks has the books in order for first time readers for all the Shanara books, and so I am going to read in that order starting with The Sword of Shanara. The Gypsy Morph is the last book in the Genesis of Shannara Trilogy and I am not sure what to think about this book. It was alright but it wasn't as interesting as The Elves of Cintra. The story in the previous book in this trilogy was much more intriguing and the anatagonist was more developed. To me it truly was a demon. One that seemed friendly but in fact was scheming for it's own sick desires. Having read the Legends of Shannara duology I can name another demon that I found much more interesting than Findo Gask despite him being in more books than this demon. In the end I was very disappointed when it came down to the final battle which has become my problem with a few Shannara books, predictable.Nonetheless it was a good read but not as good as The Elves of Cintra.
One of the best series of books I've ever read...three times.
