"He didn't tell me we were having company until we got to the shore. We weren't having our time together the way I thought we would... and now Daddy wanted to act like he had complaints about me." Lexie can't believe how awful she feels. Not only are her parents divorced and Mom is no longer coming to the shore with her and her Dad, now her Dad has invited his girlfriend. Oh, and by the way, she has two kids of her own: Ben and Harris (who only answers to Mack). How will Lexie ever get along with these people. And more importantly: how serious is her Dad about this woman? Lexie is a strong character but the resolution of the problem seems a little too easy to believe. This book is about a girl whose parents are divorsed. She goes to spend the week on the shore with her dad only to find out that her dad has invited his new girlfriend. Lexie is mad because Vicky and her two sons (Ben and Harris) are staying too. Her father gives her bedroom to the boys so Lexie gets the smallest room. Her mom knows nothing about Vicky staying and Lexie doesn't know how to tell her. So Lexie trys to be nice but her father isn't spending any time with her. This was a very interesting book and I hope you will like it too.
A good summer read and a good portrayal of a family dealing with divorce and new relationships.
