Little Sister Is Not My Name (Sassy, #2) (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
Sassy doesn’t like the drab blue and white uniforms she has to wear to school. If she had her way, she’d give each day a color theme and she’d decorate everything with sparkles. She doesn’t like being called Little Sister; her name is Sassy! This is a very nice book, very gentle, about a 4th grader, her friends and her family, her grandmother (who is a famous storyteller), and her learning that being the smallest isn’t always a bad thing. 3rd grade girls What can I say? Not my preferred type of book, but...it's cute. The protagonist is likeable without being annoying, and her problem - being the youngest in the family - is resolved in a predictable manner by her being the only one small enough to save her family from a not-too-horrible situation.Nonetheless, Sassy deals with her problems head-on, with the help of her apparently bottomless "Sassy-sack". It's a cute story.
