4 stars. I thought this was a pretty good pnr book. I enjoyed it as a whole, but definitely like the second half better. As far as characters go, I liked both the H and h, but sometimes I found the h a little annoying. For example, the h can't stand when H is around other women, even if they are pack, but she also can't understand why H was so angry when she went with Jax to his hotel room-very annoyingly contradictory. I actually wanted a little more tension. Every time it got close to being really good and angsty they worked it out. Great suspense in second half. Really pulled the story together and raised my rating. BlurbDeep in the heart of New Orleans, Acadian Wolves’ Alpha, Logan Reynaud, rescues a beautiful woman in the dead of night. Yet Wynter’s a distraction he can’t afford when his priority is to lead his new pack. Will Logan surrender to the uncontrollable need to claim Wynter as his mate? And will he be able to keep her alive, finding the killer who threatens the Acadian Wolves? My ReviewBook 4 of this series started out with a bang and never let up. This is the story of Logan the new Alpha Wolf of New Orleans Acadian Pack and Wynter who winds up literally "running " into his life. It can be read as a stand alone but it is really much better read as part of the whole series! There is a lot of action, betrayal, sex and romance, as well as angst, mystery and it all rolls up into a great story. This is also the story of Logan and his new roll as Alpha of the Acadian Wolf pack and all he goes through to ensure peace and happiness for his wolves who for the last year or two had been upset and not happy leading up to their Alpha's murder at the end of book 3. Logan has to establish himself through a series of challenges and comes out ahead and lets his pack know he will not stand for it any more up to this point he let the challengers live-he let them know in no uncertain terms the next challenge would be to the death. The characters were very well developed in this book, the plot was brilliant and I feel so far this is the best book to date that the author has written in this series Logan from the beginning is such a wonderful Alpha, loving and caring and his goodness shines through. He chooses his friend Dimitri to be his beta and all works out.Wynter is so tortured in this book from vampires and others who have kidnapped her and forced her to work on a virus, she has been brutalized and once she is in Logan's care they both feel something very strong towards each other. She submits to him and never wants to leave him. What happens to her is shocking and you won't want to miss what the outcome is.A quote from this book shows how Logan feels; "Logan hadn't planned on losing control, but in that moment, Wynter was his life, his present and future. No longer would he live his life alone. He'd blame it on his wolf, but in truth it was the heart of the man that wanted to claim this woman as his own."There is so much action and twists in this story you will not be able to put this book down. I am so glad to have read this book and now I am going to read the next one. Do yourself a favor and immerse yourself into the lives of the Immortals of New Orleans, you will be glad you did!The correct reading order for this series is1 Kade's Dark Embrace2 Luca's Magic Embrace3 Tristan's Lyceum Wolves4 Logan's Acadian Wolves5 Leopold's Wicked EmbraceI gave this book a 5 ***** Star Rating
