Man this book had me hooked from beginning to end. I loved this book, I was it was a series because I would love to see more of Rafe & Seth. Seth was a shifter I hadn't read about yet and I was awe'd and wanted more. He was so sweet and cute, but when he lost it he was powerful and domineering. Loved the Bad Seth, Good Seth aspect. I wish we could have learned more about Rafe's heritage and his supernatural abilities, I felt like if we did it would have been a 5 star read for me. I really enjoyed this, still disappointed that I won't get a sequel, I feel like it shouldn't ended there. A compelling story of a meek human who's really a raging beast trying to fit in. And keeping so much of himself and his past a secret from the man who loves him. The way Rafe tries to reconcile the two Seths and figure out how they're going to make this relationship work is touching. And, like all good stories with a specific mythology, the big reveal that upsets everything pays off nicely. My complaint, though, is that the use of pronouns in this story is distracting. At times it's difficult to tell which character is being referenced. But as far as the narrative, this story is an interesting look at the paranormal that may (but hopefully isn't) all around us.
What do You think about Lone (2009)?
I loved, loved, loved this book. Really do recommend it.
