Pure romance, Rowan McBride style. This author has a muscle and size fetish which comes through in various works . It's not something I ever though to find attractive before, but there's just something about McBride's stories that hits a nerve for me, every time. A very good nerve!Having said that, I can see how this might not be for everyone - you have been warned ;-DOn a side note, the author wrote in a blog that Riley's character was originally much darker, and was toned down in subsequent edits. Personally, I wouldn't have minded a touch "darker"... 3.5 starsI liked this book - I didn't loooooove it but it was certainly entertaining enough. The premise behind it is intriguing and I like books with imagination. I think it could have used some more romance though. It was not edgy enough to be heartless and not mushy enough to be romantic - it sorta hovered in a gray zone of detachment. I really like first person narratives. When stories are written in first person I usually get a strong emotional connection with the character but I didn't with this story. It is a short and easy read and I will probably read it again in the future to see if I connect with it better.
What do You think about One Shot (2009)?
I wanted to like it a lot more but it was fine for a weekend read.
