I thought this book was awesome by the fact that it did show a moral/lesson to like it doesn't if your'e the popular kid or the star player in a team your still a team player whether you score a butch of points or not you should still have sportsmanship. I like how Ned apologized Pedro for being a jerk to him since he was in the basketball team. Another reason why i liked it was when Ned voted for Pedro for class president because he knew he was going to be the better leader when he was elected. Pedro never worried about making himself look good but making his team mates look good. That's how it was at least before he ran for class president against the star basketball player and the class president every year Ned. Ned acted of the court as if he was fine with Pedro running for president, but on the court he acted as if they were enemies'. Pedro couldn't say anything because everyone just thought he wasn't doing as good not Ned sabotaging him. Will Pedro get through his troubles? Will he be friends with Ned again? Will he win class president? Find out by reading "Long Shot" by Mike Lupica. School Library Journal says, "Lupica portrays the action clearly and vividly, with a real sense of the excitment and unpredictable nature of the games."
Pedro is the new kid on his basketball team and trying to learn where he fits in.
