Beautifully written book about a little girl who dreams of having a dragon for a friend and a dragon who dreams of being friends with a little girl. Clearly this is a match made in heaven. The language is poetic and makes for a lovely read as well as being a wonderful story to read to young children. The book can appeal to girls and boys. The illustrations are gorgeous and make the book feel complete. The dragon has the cutest face and is adorable. Written in verse, this is a cute story of friendship between a girl and a dragon. Natalie is in a princess phase, which has recently started expanding out into other elements of fantasy (unicorns, dragons, castles, fairies). So, this book was well timed for us. Beautiful artwork. Bed time was a great time to read it. I felt it was a little longer than it needed to be, and some of the wording was a little hard to read cold and upside down. (I do most of my reading to Natalie upside down as she sits across from me and I hold the book so she can see the pictures).
What do You think about Lovabye Dragon (2012)?
Rhyming. Female character. She wants a dragon (and not a prince).
