This is the second book in the Ladies of Summerhill series and also the second book I've read by Cara Lynn James. I won the third book, Love by the Book, through a Goodreads giveaway and wanted to be sure that I read the first two in the series first. Although the story is predictible, it's a wonderful light reading that I would encourage you to try. I loved that Charlotte, the main character, was only beginning her journey with God and while reading a few scriptures or even Daniel's newspaper columns she would reflect on them, much as I feel anyone would. Even if I hadn't wont the Goodreads giveaway for the 3rd book, I would still be anxious to read it just the same! Thank you Goodreads for sending another good author my way! Charlotte Hale is a secretary for a newspaper in 1900, and longs to be a reporter. Her boss gives her a chance - she is to go undercover as a governess, and dig up some dirt on a widowed professor who writes a religion column for a rival paper. She takes the job with nervousness, and those feelings only multiply as she finds no "dirt" to dig up, and discovers her editor will not take "no" for an answer. Stakes are risen, and things get complicated as her newspaper boss' ethics threaten to ruin her relationship with the professor. It took me a while to get into the story (in fact, I almost gave up on it), but once I did, I could hardly put it down. Not sure if it was personal preference or what it might have been that made me not engaged in the beginning.I'd probably give this a 3 1/2 stars if I could. Like I said, once I got into it, it was very hard to put down. Just took me a while.
What do You think about Love On Assignment (2011)?
Not as good as other books I have read, but I still recommend it.

Quite enjoyed this one, not sure if it's a 7/10 or 8/10 yet.
