Jed had smiled, loving the way she felt, asleep in his arms, and continued to watch the movie, determined to see it to the end credits. He didn’t. It wasn’t the sun streaming through the window that woke him who knows how many hours later, nor the enthusiastic chatter of the two news anchors discussing something about the Grammys on the still-running television.
