Madame Chic Aneb Co Všechno Jsem Se Naučila V Paříži (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

I totally agreed with the general idea of the book - to live life to the fullest - and I was inspired by her thoughts on how - less stuff, higher quality things, being content, nourishing your mind and soul with good books, music, art, etc. (though her ideas were far from original!). But, I felt like you had to be rich to be chic, even though she says to "buy what you can afford". I also did not agree with her view on so much formality being that wonderful... no thank you! And I will not be cooking or cleaning in silk or cashmere in the near future : ) I enjoyed this book and found it more insightful than I expected. I love the idea of the capsule wardrobe and am working on creating mine now. My only criticism is that the author seems to have plenty of money, which makes it easier for her follow her advice to pursue quality over quantity. For example, she buys most of her clothes from designer boutiques, and many of her readers (including me) cannot afford to do that. She would argue that it can be done on any budget, but I don't think so.

What do You think about Madame Chic Aneb Co Všechno Jsem Se Naučila V Paříži (2011)?

Meh. Just another boring supplicant kneeling at the altar of a deceptively intriguing culture.

I really LOVED this book. Now, if I could just get my wardrobe down to ten pieces...
