"Magic Box" is a children's book. I would recommend this book to children ages three through seven. It would be a great book for a child who is just beginning to read. It is about a little girl (Eva) who climbs in a cardboard box that she gets for her birthday. She becomes a magician and makes all of her dreams come true. I would rate this book a five out of five because children would really enjoy this book. I do love a book with a dance party in the middle. And this one celebrates imagination, too. Drawn in inky black ink with intense reds, oranges and blues for accents, it has a light, calm feel, even as layer cakes and bunnies fly through the air and a cheetah doubles on sax. Will be super nice at storytime, as an individual read-aloud, and for new readers.Endpaper bonus: bunnies demonstrating dance steps in styles from Latin to square.
