Wonderful follow-up to Keeping Promise Rock. It was great to catch up with Deacon, Crick, Benny and the rest of the gang. I had previously liked Shane but he was new to town and we didn't know him so well. Nice to see him finally come out of his shell. Mikhail was kinda bitchy but that's just his way and also his defense mechanism. He's had a very difficult youth and without his mom Ylena he would have died. He desperately tries to push Shane away...it's a good thing that Shane can be stubborn too.Oh and by the way , the chemistry between these 2 is smoking hot. I loved this MM book.I have liked almost every book of Amy lane that i have read. She does not disappoint.I like the way she writes the emotions . The angst in her books are not contrived. They are real and heart wrenching. She is a good story teller. She makes the mundane interesting. In this book , Shane is an awesome H. Shane is trustworthy, understanding , clam , patient and a lovable guy. Mikhail now is a character i hard understanding and relating to.He is childish , immature at times . But he knows he is being all those things and makes up for them. I can understand why Mikhail loves Shane, but not vise-versa other than it being love at first sight. Mikhail had a hard childhood life.Hence it could be the reason for his behavior and insecurity. He pushes and pulls Shane and tries to test his love at every turn. Shane is perfect through it all. The story was engaging. Deacon, Crick from book 1 make their appearance.
What do You think about Making Promises (2010)?
Okay - probably my most favorite of the series. You just have to looooooove both men.
