I saw this on the shelf at the library and had to check it out. Even though I haven't read the first volume yet (I didn't even know this series existed until yesterday) I couldn't wait. It is probably more engaging if you know the backstory, but it was still interesting enough conceptually and visually on its own.One question, though: what's with our newfound cultural obsession with zombies? I have a difficult time with this series because I don't feel that the slap-stick humor meshes at all with the overall tone of the book where blood and gore abound and in which some of the characters truly feel remorse for turning in to what they have. The nature of this series feels far too serious for this out of place humor. That being said, I have enjoyed the animation and the slight twist in volume 2.
A continuation of Kirkman's zombie take on the Marvel universe. Entertaining, but not great.
