Mi Hombre. Confesión (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

This series was awesome. The story is eerily similar to FSOG, but overall I enjoyed it more! Which is saying a great deal, because FSOG is set in my hometown, and the story was a bit of a love letter to the Pacific Northwest. Jodi's take on this type of story flowed better for me, it was impossible not to make comparisons throughout. Since I loved FSOG, I didn't mind feeling like those characters were present in the background while reading this. Jesse is damaged, but not so brooding, and seems to need Ava in his darkest moments,or when she resists his control. While his FSOG counterpart tends to punish, and create distance with Ana. I also think any fan that may be offended at how similar these two stories are, should remember FSOG was concieved as a modern, less supernatural version of Edward and Bella....meant to shine light on how disfunctional that relationship might be in the real world. I like to think of the This Man series as FSOG's lovable cousin from across the pond.....one big happy bdsm family!! I'm putting my review for the entire series here to save myself some work… :)Honestly, this whole series had me going the entire time. THere were parts where things happened out of absolutely nowhere, and I was like what the F*ck?!. Some of it was really confusing. Yet at the same time, but the time the whole thing ended, everything fit and made sense. Sure, the events kept popping up randomly, but the author gave them all reasons for happening, so the whole story was eventually resolved completely. I love the epilogue, where you FINALLY get a little sneak peak at Jesse's mind. The entire time I was reading, I was DYING to know what Jesse was thinking. That was a relief.I think my favorite part of this whole series is the character development. Both of them have such cute little quirks, like the peanut butter and their obsession with each other's clothes. They also have a whole bunch of inside jokes that I find completely adorable (THE COUNTDOWN OH MY GOD).I'm thinking the whole thing with Mikael could have had more plot development, because he just drops out of the story all of the sudden after making it such a big deal in the second book. I think it also would have been hilarious to put in the scene of her childbirth. He'd go insane and at would be so funny! But other than that, I really liked the book.

What do You think about Mi Hombre. Confesión (2013)?

We all know what the manor is, we all know Jessie got Ava pregnant by taking away her pills. (When Jessie finds out Ava was thinking about an abortion he left) Ava could have let rip if she wanted to, but of course she doesn't. I don't think the 'This Man' series is a series I will read again. This is supposed to be the climax of the series, and I'm still feeling frustrated with Jessie and even more so with Ava. He carries her everywhere and why? Because she is pregnant. OMG it's frustrating as he'll. and I still stick to my original assumption, I would have left Jessie in book 1 and never gone back, not if he's using emotional blackmail. Ava still does what Jessie tells her and she allows it. I hate that Ava is a push over. Anyway the emotions are real and again had to put my kindle down so I wouldn't do it it damage.Ava and Jessie's relationship is very unhealthy and borderline abuse in my opinion.

This series isn't for everyone and now I seriously wish that I had stopped reading after the first book. I incorrectly assumed that these characters would grow on me, but unfortunately, they did the opposite. I'm giving it 3 stars because I don't think that it was written poorly or that the author deserves poor ratings, I simply can't get past my disgust for these 2 main characters. Actually, I hated all the supporting characters as well. The apparent fan girl love that I see for Jesse Ward boggles my mind. In all of the 1400+ pages I read, I don't believe he was ever, even ONE time, honest and forthcoming unless given no other option. All of his INSANE (and I mean insane. Over the top. Not hot alpha but straight up bastard) behavior aside, I would never trust that man.
