Mi Rinoceronte: (Spanish Language Edition Of My Rhinoceros) (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

When a boy buys a rhinocerous as a pet, he is disappointed because it doesn't do anything. It won't fetch a ball, a stick, or a frisbee, or do anything of the cool things most pets do. When an animal expert tells him that it's normal for a rhinocerous to avoid all those activities since all rhinos do is pop balloons and poke holes in kites, the boy grows excited by the possibilities. But still, nothing happens. That is, until the day two robbers use a kite and a balloon to escape the crime scene. The rhinocerous leaps into the air at the boy's urging, popping, poking, and flying, to the boy's amazement. It turns out the rhino is exactly the kind of animal companion for which he's been looking. The soft illustrations show the placid rhinocerous as he waits until the boy realizes just what he has in his new friend. It's all great fun, but the story also has a worthy message concerning not going by first impressions. Only Jon Agee could make having a pet rhinoceros an unforgettable adventure! Of course, a young boy decides to take on such an unusual pet, believing he will have such excitement with his new horned pal. He comes to find out that his rhino is placid and most certainly not an adventure seeker. Enter a rhino expert who asks pertinent and hard-hitting questions such as, "Does he poop on the rug?" The youngster is disappointed to find out that rhinos only do two things: pop balloons and poke holes in kites. Oh boy. So, he does the only natural thing - take his unsuspecting rhino in the path of balloons and kites at the park. Sadly for the kid, no mayhem or disasters ensues as his pet rhino is more at ease just sniffing the flowers. So where is the action you ask? Let's just say some bad guys are thwarted by some righteous rhino skills. Highly recommended for ages five and up.

What do You think about Mi Rinoceronte: (Spanish Language Edition Of My Rhinoceros) (2012)?

Thought this one would have a little more cute/humor factor than it did. Good but not great.
