While on a tabloid photography assignment to capture an image of reclusive sculptor RS Morgan, Jayne Sullivan meets former detective turned handyman/carpenter Reed Kimball. Unfortunately, Jayne also catches the eye of a madman and becomes a pivotal piece of his family’s plan for salvation. Towards the end of Midnight Exposure the two main characters of the second book in this series, Midnight Sacrifice, local B&B owner Mandy and Jayne’s brother, Danny are introduced.Although there is some suspense in Melinda Leigh’s Midnight Exposure I thought that at least one of the perpetrators was easy to spot. Thus, I felt that this was a predictable romance with a slightly interesting Celtic twist. This book was great on so many levels. It is filled with suspense and romance. The twists and turns of the story plot keep you on the edge of your seat, hungry to read more. While there is romance in the story, it is the subtle coming together of two broken souls who never thought they would need another person. Throughout the book you are given hints about who the psychopath may be, but even at the end, the complexity of the story keeps you guessing. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves suspense and thrillers.

Her endings are sappy but the read is good. Hard to put down.
