A fun read combining romance (predictable outcome), tragedy, and mystery. Placed in a small Southside Virginia town the local extension agent is being stalked by her not quite exhusband. She resorts to a private detective since the cops are no help. The detective is a 6'5" hunk who is still mourning his murdered wife and is being stalked by her newly released from prision psycho murderer. Sooooo these two have alot of emotional baggage to deal with in addition to the reality of these two dangers. Frankly if you can accept the premiss that all this stalking is going on in a small southern town where if you have ever lived you know everyone watches and knows everything, then you are good to go with this quick read. Got as a borrowed ebook from Amazon Prime. Judging by the average rating on Goodreads and Amazon, I'm in the minority, but the only good thing about this book for me was that it was free. Reading it was the equivalent of watching a train wreck that you can't look away from. The characters were one-dimensional and vapid. The story was … well, I was lead to believe from the description that there was a mystery and a love story and instead what I got was a big old mess of a story with little to no mystery and an utterly unbelievable love story. And yet, I still finished it … I'm not sure I like what that says about me.
Predictable and cheesy. I suppose that's to be expected from a freebie romance ebook.
