The guilt was eating at me, but there was nothing I could do about it now. It was done and I had to live with it. On the way there, I hit some traffic and was stopped for a while due to some construction. I had forgotten all about my cell phone and checked it for messages. The first one was from Pam at 12:30am: “He just got home, he’s drunk!” The next was from Robert at 6:30am: “I tried calling you last night, I miss you. I have busy day today, please pick up the phone tonight Alexandra” Me: “Sorry baby I fell asleep early last night, I miss you so much” The last was from Victor, 8:30am: “On my way to work, bringing the Doctor with me this Friday” Me: “Awesome, I will meet you for lunch tomorrow” When I got there, her minivan was gone but his car was there. I debated for a while thinking whether I should even go in or not. Then I saw Pam peak out the window waiving at me to come in, so I got out of the car to face the woman whose husband I slept with last night, my stomach turned.
