I enjoyed this book. Kim Dare describes her books as BDSM novels and short stories, but mainly, there is D/s, a little bondage and a lot of sex, but not enough SM for my taste.Sloan is the kind of dom I love. He does what he wants the way he loves it, that's it, that's all. This is not because he is not so eager to say "I love you", that he does not feel love for his collared sub. I've known guys like that, who'd never utter such words (I love you) to anyone, but who'd probably attempt suicide if the guy they love walked away from them. They are big bears of men, but still they have a heart. For cons, I hate it when subs don't stop to question themselves and can't decide whether they are subs or not. Shit! They just have to open their eyes and look down to their throbbing and bobbing cock each time a dom is speaking to them and moving around them. Is it so "hard" to understand that they like everything the doms say or do to them? And why so many authors insist on creating subs so hesitant and unsure of themselves. Most of the real subs are very assertive guys/gals and know pretty well what they are and what they want: they want a real alpha male, a god top to dominate them. I wasn't as happy with this Kim Dare story as most her other reads. It was longer than most, but had less... heart? The book was a story of miscommunication and assuming one thing about the other. Of course, if a simple conversation could solve problems, we wouldn't have anything to read.It wasn't that the story didn't make you feel, but I don't think disliking Sloan on principal is quite what the author was going for. The fear both Carl and Sloan held at the possibility of maybe getting hurt if either said something to the other to indicate just how interested they were... You see both sides, and understand why. Just can't reconcile that the two could have been together long before they were if they'd given just a little long before the cracker was ever popped.
What do You think about Mistletoe And Submission (2010)?
well written, but too much straight BDSM for me to deal with.
