This was my second Shannon Stacey, and I enjoyed it so much that I purchased and read one more. I enjoyed that and my first, as well, but here's the problem; while they're sweet and engaging, well-written and with likable characters, there isn't much to them. I couldn't figure out why I simultaneously wanted to read more, but also felt empty after each one. Shannon Stacey's books are a lot like Twinkies; fun to eat while you're in the moment, but when they're gone, you're still hungry, you haven't contributed any nutrients to your body, and you feel slightly ashamed of yourself. ★ ★ ★ ★ 1/2I got this on audio book and listened to it while I was at work. It was a really cute story and the friends to lovers trope was used quite effectively. The little addition of the friend's widow made for an extra conflict that I enjoyed.Quick read and very sexy. Shannon Stacey knows how to do the family dynamic very well. I love This doesn't disappoint in the least. Perfect little Christmas read.
What do You think about Mistletoe & Margaritas (2011)?
Fun, short read - perfect for this time of year when time is short.
