This require is only for the history is Son... Super hot sexy and steamy but in no way related to The Black Dagger Brotherhood... Some aspects of the mythology persists like the aversion for the sun, but others have changed completely ... The effect of the vampire blood in Claire... The children having vampire teeth already... We would have killed for the vampire blood preserving human life. Specially in the case of V and Jane, so we shouldn't have to deal with the ghost stuff... Despite of the fact that is not related to the BDB is a very good story sexy and tender I really enjoy it!! I was going to average things here but after doing it and thinking of the different stories I just couldn't let it stand that way. J.R. Ward has a story here that is so far and above the others it just didn't do her justice at all..The anthology start with "Shadow of the Moon" by Sherrilyn Kenyon. The H, Fury, is great. As you got to know him you just loved him more and wanted the best for him. He deserved a lot, especially when you hear about his past. Unfortunately with Angelia it sounded like she started as a great match for him but with her absolute betrayal both in the past and the present it didn't lend itself to a good h for Fury. Being young, scared, and stupid is one thing but she didn't seem to have gained any decent self knowledge from what she says she regrets. The turnaround for her was to unbelievable..J.R. Ward with "The Story of Son" was head and shoulders above the rest. Although meaning to sometime I had never read anything by this author before. The h was a strong character which lends itself well to the situation she finds herself in and the final HEA. Her strength is tempered with a compassion needed when you finally meets Son. Son, also known as Micheal, was wonderful. His human interaction over his confinement years didn't lend itself to a good self image for him and his inner beauty and gentleness not only made him a wonderful being but also brought out the best in Claire. This story was so good it made you wish it was longer..Susan Squires in "Beyond the Night" was a nice story. Drew was a great H whose background you understand eventually. This could be said about the h as well. The way they came together was nice and worked well. Drew's primary motivation through the years though seemed to just disappear a bit fast, even though realistically there was nothing else he could do about it in the end. .The story "Midnight Kiss Goodbye" by Dianna Love was ok but a bit of a mess for me. The whole world this story is set in seemed to be dumped on the reader. There was to much information, and characters, to process well in that brief time. Of course it would be hard to understand things without some of it but it got a bit overwhelming. While both the H and h were nice the chemistry wasn't as strong as 2 of the secondary characters turned out to be. Both the sister and Lucien seemed like they would be very interesting to read about.
What do You think about Mistérios Noturnos (2012)?
This is a paranormal anthology with four stories. I only liked two of the stories and didn't finish the other two."Shadow of the Moon" by Sherrilyn Kenyon is about Werewolf Fury Kattalakis who is searching for the person who attacked a Lion Shapeshifter. He finds Angelia, a woman who grew up as his best friend before she betrayed him years ago. Now Angelia is part of a group who kills shapeshifters as revenge for her parents death.I found this story interesting and really liked the secondary characters, but had a hard time following some of the terminology since I haven't read the other stories in Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. I needed a glossary. My rating: 3.5 Stars."The Story of Son" by J.R. Ward finds attorney Claire Stroughton visiting an elderly client. When the client tells her she should meet her son, Claire thinks that she is matchmaking. But later she wakes up in a dungeon bedroom with a strange man. The man apologizes to her, then proceeds to bite her neck. As Claire gets to know the man, she learns that he is the vampire son of her client, and has been locked in the basement for over 50 years. It doesn't take long for Claire to fall for him and plan to break then both out of dungeon.I really enjoyed this story. Michael is a great tortured hero and Claire is a smart heroine who has to figure out how to get them out of this situation. My rating: 4.5 Stars. The other two stories in this book were boring and confusing. I didn't finish them. My overall rating for the book is 3.5 Stars, with two good stories and two snoozers.

A sweet short story, "The Story of Son" is definitely a precursor to J.R. Ward's "Black Dagger Brotherhood" series. Here, we can see the Warden experimenting with the vampires that will come to be the core of her paranormal series. The romance that develops between Michael and Claire heralds the type of passion that we see with the brothers and their mates. Since the novella was quite short, the story progressed too quickly and left me wanting a more satisfying conclusion. Perhaps we will see a cameo in the main series.
