Models Don't Eat Chocolate Cookies (2009) - Plot & Excerpts
The book is really nice, but it makes me a little uncomfortable because they’re all twelve-year-olds. But besides that, the writing is very simple and Celeste’s, the main character’s, situation is very relatable. Being a little pleasantly plump at a young age can be pretty stressful and being a model isn’t easy. However, if you’re like me, you’d probably be yelling at Celeste to just get it over with.Other than that, it’s an okay read. My rating would be more a 3.25 or a 3.5. Erin Dionne was able to capture the true struggles of being an over weight teen in middle school, getting bullied by her peers. She is able to show the pressure brought to Celeste by not only her family, but society. This book was very well written and perfect for any reader, whether it is a teenager, or an adult. As a teenager reader, that was once over weight and bullied, this book was powerful and meaningful; I can defiantly see myself re reading this book.
