The relationship Ms Angelou had with her mom was all the more amazing because of the beginning of it. Her mother was strong willed and Ms Angelou cites so many examples of how she took the bull by the horns no matter the situation. She learned from her mom, it's clear. Both put themselves in situations I would never go willingly.Did not follow Maya Angelou when she was alive but her mom and her stories are spellbinding. Seemingly simplistically written, but I was enthralled. A lot of the stories in the book will already be known by anyone who has read Maya Angelou's autobiography series, however in this case 70% of the material is exactly the same (word for word) as it is in her book 'Letter to my Daughter'.As well as this, many reviews have commented on the different tone and rhythm of the book compared to her other works which makes me think this book was more the work of an editor than Maya herself.
What do You think about Mom And Me And Mom (2013)?
completely engrossing, prepared to get lost in this book in the best way possible!
