More Than Make-Believe (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

This is going down as one of my favorites read this year. How on earth did I miss this one!?!? It hit a lot of my buttons. The sex was freaking fantastic and so freaking hot!!!! It even ends in a wonderful HEA! So many exclamation marks!!!!!! If you love a good story with 2 very hot MCs, a tiny age gap, a slight misunderstanding, porn, cute little kiddo, hot sex and an HEA.. then what are you waiting for?! Go one-click, now!Highly recommend! The only thing that could have made this book better was if it was longer! But the author did an awesome job no matter the length! Forbidden love is often the most intense. In this fairy tale, two guys are gay for pay and are supposed to just fake an interest for each other for the cameras, but fall in love for real. I loved this story. The emotions of both characters felt real and authentic. The twist of fate at the end that nearly destroyed the HEA was believable and not over the top, a pleasant change from the forced, eye-roll inducing Big Misunderstanding that happens in so many M/M romance novels just to create artificial drama. My only criticism is that that the story was over too quickly. It's nice to know that there is going to be a HEA. But I would have liked to experience more of that than a 7 page epilogue. The epilogue tries to address the obvious obstacle the MCs would face giving that their relationship started in porn: wouldn't people recognize them, especially as a couple? Gary's fake tattoo might convince someone that he isn't the guy in those movies who looks just like him. But his boyfriend looks exactly like that other guy he was having sex with and obviously into right before he retired? Given the discrimination and hostility that adult actors, especially gay ones, still face in society, that's enough potential drama for a good sequel.

What do You think about More Than Make-Believe (2012)?

Cute, just cute .... weird as that might sound with two porn-stars as MCs ;-)

A bit unrealistic, but a very sweet story - almost like a fairy tale.
