Murder In The Rue St. Ann (2004) - Plot & Excerpts
I thoroughly enjoyed Greg Herren's Murder in the Rue St. Ann. It's the third Herren novel I've read (all out of order) and can't believe I've waited so long to read his sharply plotted mystery novels. Chanse McLeod is the perfect private-eye and in this novel reveals more of just "who" Chanse is. I would venture to say this is one of my favorites - if not the favorite - novels I've read by Herren thus far. The mystery is deftly plotted, and the backstory quickly becomes just as important as Chanse searches in desperation for the love of his life, Paul. The last 30 pages are suspenseful, thrilling, and heart-wrenching. Readers will not be disappointed!
