Initially I was wary of reading this book around the holidays. I thought it would be too sad and heavy. But the story was well written and his experiences in prison were not graphic or overwrought with detail. I like that he didn't focus on that aspect as many of these types of memoirs do. This book reminds us that there are good people in all religions and cultures just as there are bad. We should treat everyone with kindness and love. When I really like books I rate them with four stars, but when I rally like books and I know their message will stay with me for a long time I give them five stars. This book will definitely stay with me. His story is incredible, and the fact that he was willing to spend 15 years in an Egyptian prison for his beliefs inspires me tremendously!!! What are most people willing to sacrifice for their beliefs? I have asked myself this question a lot in the last few days. But more than being inspiring it was really interesting to read of someone's life growing up in a strict Islam home. This book is great and I highly recommend anyone to read it!
Amazing story of the trials he went through that led him to the truth.
