Nelly and her Daddy Gnu use a large box from a new piece of furniture to create a wonderful playhouse. Daddy Gnu even takes her to the store to pick out paint to decorate the new playhouse. A fantastic father/daughter book. I do have to say that I'm getting a little tired of the same kind of rhyming from Dewdney all the time. However, rhyming is what works with kids and this book will be no different. I love Anna Dewdney! I hadn't been paying much attention to her books lately, so I hadn't realized she had expanded from Llama Llama. I love her new character! I've always enjoyed her art style and Nelly Gnu is a cutie pie. I love her little gnu beard the most. The relationship portrayed between Nelly and her Daddy is fantastic. It's cute and sweet and a great book for reassuring a little one she is loved.
Bold, bright colors for kids. Humor and "I-remember-that" moments for adults.
