Going home has different meanings to everyone. For Randy it means spending as much time on his family’s ranch and with his sister before he comes to fighting blows with his father. He has decided that his most recent injury will be best mended at this home. After just a few days he sees that his father will not allow it, but the neighboring ranch may just be the place he was always looking for and never knew would exist for him. Hardin Stables is a bit different from most. The owner has a soft place in his heart for the unwanted and strays in general. Knowing what it is like to be cast aside Les has opened his home and heart to those. Les also knows from personal experience that good can come from bad experiences. He sees in Randy exactly that. In opening his home Les is hoping to open Randy’s mind and heart. There is a whole lot of sexy goodness going on in the pages of No Going Home. There were also a few things that were loose and a little too easy going for me. I like difficult struggles that my main characters have to conquer. One of the struggles here was Randy coming out of the closet. It was Randy’s own struggle. It seemed to me that everyone he knew already knew he was gay and completely okay with it. That left little tension. This is my first book by this author and it is a great story .. Liked the way the same develops and how Randy finally after years of knowing his sexuality opens up to his true self. He has suffered from fear and being mistreated by his dad. He meets Les when he comes to visit his sister to his family ranch. Les and Randy liked each other instantly but Randy struggles with his sexuality in public. After fighting with his father Randy gets Les to protect him and show him compassion. . What is really good about the way the story develops is that they communicate with one another. Les shows Randy that with love and dreams can become true. I also liked the secondary characters especially Tony who is a good friend to both.
I liked this book. The guys got together too fast, but other than that it was an enjoyable read.
