No Place Like Home (Siren Publishing Ménage And More) - Plot & Excerpts

She pulled over to let the sheriff’s car pass, but it pulled up behind her, and she could see the deputy gesturing for her to pull over. She did, her heart thumping. She didn’t think she was speeding. She wondered what she’d done wrong.
In her side mirror she saw the deputy get out of his car. He was tall and she could see the dark hair peeking out under his hat. Between the hat and his sunglasses, she couldn’t see much of his face, but his body was smoking hot. He was tall, and she could see the well-muscled shoulders straining against the short-sleeved uniform shirt. She rolled her window down and waited.
He approached and placed one hand on the frame of the open window.
“What can I do for you, deputy? Did I do something wrong?”
“It’s sheriff.” She stiffened. She knew that voice. She looked up, and he took off his hat. “And what you can do is get out of out that car and assume the position.”
