I will totally admit, I picked up this book because of the cover and the title. And I'm so glad I did. This is one of those books that touches your heart and soul right when and where you need it. I understand not being able to get over a loss that big. I understand losing myself in books. And I definitely understand creating a reading goal and sticking with it (because I'm just stubborn).I was afraid this book with just create a longer list of books to add to my TBR pile. But it didn't- I appreciated the books she discovered, but I didn't obsessively want to put every single one on my TBR list. It just helped me love the reading world even more (if that's possible...). This book was on my to-read list for a long time. Not that it was emergency to read this book, but I was intrigued by how one person could read a book a day for a year. I really admire her determination and discipline to restore herself. Some references and books are never heard before, and I know I wouldn't be able to read all her collections, but I am grateful for at least being exposed to many books I have not yet read.some quotes I found in the book:"Little Bee says to Sarah one morning as they drive from the house to buy milk, "We are all trying to be happy in this world. I am happy because I do no think the men will come to kill me today. You are happy because you can make your own choices." Little Bee and Sarah see themselves in the hopes of the others, and they want to help each other fulfill those hopes." -page 143"Mysteries tell me there is order in the universe. And I believe that there is. But a good whodunit also demonstrates that for some questions, there is no answer." -page 192"You really need to prioritize in life, figuring out in what order you should divide up your time and energy. If you don't get that sort of system set by certain age, you 'll lack focus and your life will be out of balance." - Haruki Murakami"A better view: that is what I wanted my kids to have. Not to see the worst of what circumstances rendered for them in their lives, but the best. Resilience in the face of disappointment." -page 172
What do You think about O Ano Da Leitura Mágica (2011)?
Quite possibly one of the saddest books I have ever read, and the author goes on and on and on.
