I enjoy James Rollins, I enjoy Grant Blackwood, and I especially enjoy The Tucker and Kane series of stories (Tracker and Bloodline). The characters in this book are well fleshed out and you have time to enjoy the special relationship between the handler and his working dog. The authors obviously spent a lot of time researching the locales for this book and the history involved in the prolog. Contrary to some of the other reviewers, I found the story flowed well and the characters, even the minor ones, were appealing to the readers. We read these books to be entertained, they are not meant to be training manuals on the art of dog handling, spying, or counter-insurgency. I give the authors a "job well done" for catching my interest early and holding it throughout the entire book. I have enjoyed Blackwood's collaboration with Cussler and now I am enjoying it with Rollins. I loved the book. Found it on the new shelf section of my local library which is where I find most of "my new for me" authors. This is one author I will be searching for all the time now and already have two more in my library bag. And have already recommended the author to others who love reading this genre. I am only surprised that they had never tried him yet either. Using the library makes it almost impossible to read the whole selection from the beginning, but this not really a problem for me. In fact I am incredibly frustrated after reading a great book and then discovering it is the first one and I will have to wait a year or more to discover more. This just recently happened when I read Red Sparrow by Jason Matthews. I wanted more immediately, but it was his first novel.

Just couldn't get into it. Too many books and too little time. Moving on...
