Poly's are tricky because a writer has to make sure that the relationship is equal among all the parties or it can feel like someone is getting the short end of the emotional stick. In this book the relationship between Panahasi, Casey and Drake is beautifully balanced. It's hot and sweet and Casey and Drake are more than capable of handling their mate and holding their own in his dangerous world. The shocker at the end of the book was a jaw dropper. I cannot WAIT to see what kind of impact that has on future stories and on the relationships among the characters in this universe. Lynn's writing just keeps on improving. Usually, I turn away from menages but Lynn Hagen has a way of writing it that makes it credible and perfect. Nobody is short changed or left out. There is a revelation in the end about Panahasi's secret offspring and it is such a thrilling shocker. This is more expensive than her usual books but like Riley's Downfall characters are more developed and the flow of the story does not leave unresolved issues and rushed plots. Lynn's writing just keeps on improving.
Wow! I want the next book NOW!
