I gave this book four stars because I was pleasantly surprised. I am an avid scrapbooker, and a fellow scrapper suggested the series. I didn't have high expectations, but hoped it would be a light summer read. It was thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. I immediately took a liking to the main character, as well as the supporting cast of friends & neighbors. And every now and then the author fed the scrapbooker in me by giving a scrapping tip or technique. Definitely a fun read! Kiki was at first likeable. partially because I scrapbook. But then I started finding her character incredibly annoying. She's a doormat time and time again. To the point I just didn't like her anymore, around midpoint of the book. I did keep reading and she starts getting a backbone. But, she'd already spent 3/4 of the book whining about growing one without getting anywhere. I just don't know if I want to keep reading with her. Plus, I found all that slightly preachy bit about scrapbookers being a great group getting on my nerves.
I like this book with it scrapbook theme and tips the author provides for us scrapbookers.
