Perto De Você (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

Ack.Definitely not a good thing to start a review with "Ack."I had high expectations for Smith's story, so it is disappointing that it fell so short. It's one of those unexplained love stories where the reader can ascertain no reason that the hero has fallen for the heroine.Bah.I have resolved that I shall finish the original Sullivan series with Lori's story and then no more. My ratings for it started with 4, went to 3, but have been at 2 for too many stories now. I have now read all but 2 in this series. Most are great - this one is not.Still love the family and the style of writing, but there is no real solid story to this - well, there is the idea that Val doesn't want to get involved with Smith due to her mother's running around with actors - but that should have been explored a lot more to be a real foundation to the story. Most of the books in this series have some issues that either Hero or Heroine have to overcome and those issues are good "real world" problems. This one was more about the movie that was being filmed and the friendship between the 2 lead characters rather than anything else. I would still recommend it for those that are following the series - if for nothing else that being able to learn more about the 2nd eldest Sullivan brother.

What do You think about Perto De Você (2014)?

This review pertains to Come a Little Bit Closer, by Belle Andre, part of the Sullivan series. Thank you to Harlequin and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review. This was my first book in the Sullivan series, and I have since went back and started reading the previous stories. I think Smith Sullivan might be the perfect man, I loved him in all his Alpha male glory! This was a great read and I highly recommend to romance readers, and Bella Andre fans. It won't disappoint! Also, I kinda wish the movie Smith was making was real...it sounds like a blockbuster!

I love this series but I found myself skimming the pages to find out what happened in the movie. Which for me the plot captured my attention a lot more then the book. I never felt a true connection between characters and it almost felt like the main story and the movie should have been swapped. I got more passion out of the way she wrote the movie as compared to the actual book it felt like words were just thrown in for a filler.
