Piccoli Passi Di Felicità (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

First, you should know I am a complete sucker for a book with a dog on the cover. Second, some of these stink, but not this one. Juliet is a young widow having trouble recovering from her grief. Her family has been trying to help like crazy, but she is quite resistant. So this book is about healing and finding a way to move on in the face of tragedy. Juliet becomes a pet-sitter in her small town and tries to find a way to move her life forward, but she holds back, not wanting to betray her marriage or husband's memory. Her sister is also facing a life-altering change, as well as her parents - so Juliet better get it together or get left behind. A delightful read with a few chuckles, a couple of tears, and a lot of heart. I really liked this book, if I had to describe a Lucy Dillon book with a word I'd describe it with the word: charming. I'm not much of a dog lover, that is why it's a four star review. But I liked the other parts very much. I loved the sometimes messed up sister relationship going on, since I have a sister as well. And maybe since I'm an older sister I liked the character of Louisa more than anyone else, maybe not to some, but to me she was a veeery relatable character, having to be perfect all the time and hide your emotions, yeah, that's what big sister many times do. I liked the character of Juliet as well, altough I did find her a bit annoying at times, but not much, she was still a nice character, and I looooved Lorcan from the first second, couldn't get enough of that guy and his easy approach towards life. In a nut shell: Nice book, nice plot, nice characters, a nicely spent evening and noon :). If that is what you expect from a book you won't be disappointed.
