This is a 3.5 for me that is not saying that i didn't enjoy the book because i did i was just a little disappointed with the character development and wanted so much. I wanted to be able to really feel the hurt from the things that Rhys had going on in his personal life but I was unable to. Now this does not take away from me loving him as character because I did. I just never really got that whole bad boy vibe it always felt that he wanted to love but just afraid and even though most would say this makes a bad boy just didn't get it from him and that's okay with me.Lindsey was easy to like because she reminded me so much of me using humor to shield your hurt and insecurities and just hoping that will be enough to help the pain and I could relate to her on some many levels because of that. I just love flawed characters they are easier to relate to no one is perfect and its nice to see it in books. From the very beginning she had me laughing with her mini stalking of Rhys from the comfort of her car to her inner dialogue using the word booyiah(I still boom please no judgment). This was not an instant love book though it may seem that way because they way the story flowed its written going from month to month with out really telling you that it is. I was also very glad that they didn't have sex right away he actually made her wait and that always refreshing to read. They had the attraction but they allowed themselves to build a friendship and you knew as a reader that he really did love her and wanted more but he just could not get over his personal issue to let that really happen and so they had to go there separate ways. Which really worked out for the best for both of them allowed them both to grow and deal with their personal issues and become stronger. What I was not expecting was Gary's crazy ass nope not at all. You kinda get the feeling from the beginning that he is not a good person and sucked as a husband. But you do not fulling get the understanding until the story starts flow and you realize that he sucks as human being. And how you could not start to like Rhys's cousin Muriel aka Fast Fingers Freddy when she told Tina "I don't know how they do it in Rhode Island, but here in dirty Jersey, bitches get stitches for talking shit and fucking with something they shouldn't" had me in tears and just sounded like something my friends would say when the ish hit the fan. Overall I really did enjoy this book very much I was able to relate to Lindsey and I always like those type of characters. However I was not a fan of the ending it left me with question and I never want to leave a book with questions. I mean is there going to be a book 2 or some type of novella or something? Do they have kids do other issue come about do they get married. I mean what happens you just cant end it like that. If there is another book I need to be the first one to read it lol. God it's been a really longtime since I've read a book and laughed. Like tears rolling down my face laughed at a book. Then turned around and am either fanning my face cause its gettin hot, or on the edge of my chair in suspense. Top notch talent is the only thing that can cause that. Top. Notch. Don't get me wrong this is a love story, but there's pain, loss, and crazies, drama and seriously funny shit. Just the way Lindsey talks cracks my ass up and don't even get me started on get interaction with her family. "I can stop being fat but you can't stop being old." Omg. That's how they talk. It is hilarious. It's not only with her family but Lindsey has some of the most random reactions to Rhys. She says some of strangest things. She keeps you on your toes, that's for sure. I mean how they start spending time together is bad enough, stalker Suzie over there isn't a very good stalker. So her and Rhys become friends. They agree to a physical relationship that we all know no woman can keep up with. Lucky for us Rhys can't deny our girl either. I will tell you this, she may be hilarious, but five finger Freddy and "bitches get stitches" was fabulous. So much about this book was fabulous. LD does such a good job of taking a smaller book and including a shit ton of drama, love, hot ass sex, screwed up issues, psychos, humor and .. Did I mention love? Yeah. Love. Love and humor, what a beautiful combo.
What do You think about Pieces Of Rhys (2000)?
I laughed, I cried, but I loved Rhys through the whole book.
